Almost Black Box, 2010.
glued inkjetprints, 130 x 110 cm.
Installation @ Marion De Cannière gallery
In a very laconic manner Somers uncovers the noise and shifts in meaning that occur when we try to express our view of reality. This happens very literally in Almost Black Box, an enlarged image of a black box Somers printed piece by piece on sixteen smaller sheets of paper. When she glued the image back together, fragments of the box turned out to be missing due to inaccuracies during the printing and gluing process. - Annemarie Poels, HART magazine
