Pyrotechnic gunpowder capsules with inginition wires — used for special effects in the movie industry — look like oversimplified clouds that are about to burst yet they are not connected to any ignition device. The chrome stand resembles both a lightning strike and a lightning rod (to prevent a lightning strike from hitting), thus creating an overall uncertainty about what is going to happen and a sense of imminent danger.
